Noh: SHAKKYO Wago-renjishi
‘The Stone Bridge’featuring two lions’
The only Noh in which lions, the companions of the Bodhisattva Monju, appear and dance. A White and a Red lion, father and son, frolic and dance on the mystic bridge leading to Monju’s paradise. This is an exciting spectacle of music, brilliant costumes and masks and dynamic movement, especially dramatic by candlelight.
